NEW INTERACTIVE ENVIROMENTS (PHASE 2)

In this section I will discuss the progress of the ongoing NIE project.

Last year ended with the proposals and initial designs for the student's union climate change awareness activities.

This year the 2nd phase has started and we have been tasked with creating newspaper adverts, screen-saver adverts, posters, web banners and TV adverts.

We will continue working hand in hand with the union till the event takes place and possibly after.

The Brief
In summary, we were to create a viral video or game to help publicise the Make A Wish foundation's 21st anniversary and also creatively drive people to donate to the cause. Please click on the "Brief" link at the bottom to view the actual brief document.

The Strategy
I researched the makeawish foundation by looking into their brand guidelines on colour, font types and design.

I tried to design to suit the theme of life and hope and children while not becoming to childish for the target audience adults.

CV AND COVERING LETTER REDONE

It's been hard and I have not even started the real task. The task of sending out CVs and covering letters where each set have to be modified to suit the firm I am applying to.

Inorder for it to suit them well, without them noticing it might just be a slightly modified generic version, you have to actually research the company and have a true desire to work for the company.

Correct grammar, tone of voice, text language and truth all have to be balanced out right.

It's hard. Period!!

WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ALL ARE !!

At first the design world was starving from a drought of briefs for we hardworking level 3 students to tear into!!....and just as we start getting used to the idea of having one less module to deal with, they all come rushing in. D&AD, ROSE, I.T.S something and RSA.

Well, now we have about 18 briefs in total to choose from and I dont know how but I, the most indecisive person on this earth have been able to narrow down to three. Two from the ROSE and one from D&AD.

Final Year.

Funny thing life is. While at Uni I couldn't wait to go on a placement and have "time for myself" and not have to fill out log books about the art of writing weekly logs.

10months later and i'm craving the Uni lifestyle again. I want to come back to a life not ruled by the 9-5 but more like 9-2. In this world my daily excuses for not handing work or meeting a deadline might actually work.

It takes stepping over the fence to realise the grass is actually not greener on the other side and now I'm back for the final year I'm ready to GO!
